Vitamix Hot Chocolate

Vitamix Hot ChocolateOf course with winter almost officially here and Christmas around the corner, that means endless days of hot chocolate and cookies!  Being that my Christmas present last year was an awesome Vitamix I decided to put it to the test.  It performed beautifully; the soup setting was perfect for making quick, easy, and delicious hot chocolate.

Simply add all ingredients except the marshmallows into the Vitamix and select the hot soup program.  If you don’t have a hot soup program, slowly increase the speed of your Vitamix to high and leave it on high for 4 to 6 minutes.  If you don’t have a Vitamix, grab a saucepan and heat the ingredients over medium heat until all the chips have melted.

Hot Chocolate Hot Chocolate Hot Chocolate

Hot Chocolate Barton DistilleriesSo of course I decided to make my hot chocolate a little more “grown up” so I added some Chocolate Bourbon Ball from Barton Distilleries to my cup and it was TASTY!

We picked the bottle up while we were driving through Kentucky Bourbon country.  It was well worth the stopover and I highly recommend the tour and tasting room!

Ingredients
  1. 1.5 cups whole milk
  2. 0.5 cup milk chocolate chips
  3. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  4. Dash ground cinnamon
  5. Marshmallows!!
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients except the marshmallows into your Vitamix blender. If you have a Vitamix Blender that has a hot soup preset option use it! If you don't run your Vitamix on high for 4 to 6 minutes. This will allow the blades to create enough friction to make the liquid hot. After your hot chocolate is finished pour it into a mug, top with marshmallows.
Notes
  1. If you don't have a Vitamix, simply heat all ingredients over the stove and whisk till dissolved.
